When Henry Hentaguew first saw the common people come alive at the sight of a fight, he decided to turn it into a business. A business where people would come to see the blood and the pain and the art and the action of fighting, whilst remaining at a safe distance in the crowd.
Then he took it a step further, and gradually began to enslave the fighters to work unpaid, legally bound and apparently powerless in doing anything about their bondage to him and his business.
It was forgotten that fighters used to be free, the most powerful and respected and revered in the land. They had allowed their minds to become numb and shallow and obedient, limited to their cages and stadiums to fight for their lives.
But when young Marxin begins to ponder the normality of his situation, whether it is okay for him to be sitting alone in his cage, waiting to go to the next island to fight, he begins to unravel a freedom within himself which wants to emerge in to the world.
Will he act on it?
A story of greed, corruption, enslavement and rebellion, written from one who was observing it all take place…
